The start of the 2019 Avon Descent was one of a kind, with a tough beginning for competitors in the shallows of the Northam Weir.

The annual two-day water event departed Northam for the Toodyay finish-line around 8am on Saturday, August 3.

The Avon Descent is a two-day river event in Western Australia; beginning in Northam, and proceeding 124km downriver to the finish line in Bayswater.
