Following the unpredicted rainfall in the catchment areas on Tuesday improving river levels and forecasts for heavy falls in the next two days, Northam’s Avon Descent Association have reverted to a full course for this year’s event.
The Race Director Jim Smith said that the decision was provisional in the belief that the forecast rains will provide a good race.
Mr Smith said that while infrastructure was in place for a full race if the expected rain fails to effect the river levels they will change back to the low water contingency plan.
